India is making a strong mark in Silicon Valley, California, as highlighted in the book India Rising @ Silicon Valley, published by The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). This inspiring anthology shares the success stories of Indian American entrepreneurs who have significantly contributed to Silicon Valley’s tech ecosystem through innovation and leadership.

The book showcases prominent figures such as Satya Nadella (CEO of Microsoft), Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google), Shantanu Narayen (CEO of Adobe), Sanjay Mehrotra (CEO of SanDisk), and other influential Indian-origin professionals who have risen to global technology leadership. Many of them are not just business leaders but also active philanthropists dedicated to giving back to India, especially in education and youth empowerment.

India Rising @ Silicon Valley also serves as a motivational guide for aspiring entrepreneurs, illustrating the challenges, perseverance, and determination behind each success story. These experiences aim to inspire the next generation of innovators in India and across the world.

Chandrajit Banerjee, Director General of CII, describes the book as a small window into the large achievements of Indian Americans in Silicon Valley. A study by Professor Vivek Wadhwa revealed that Indian immigrants lead in startup creation among all immigrant communities in the U.S., underlining their immense impact in the tech world.

Highlighted figures in the book include Vinod Khosla, Nikesh Arora, Lata Krishnan, Suhas Patil, and others β€” all pioneers who continue to influence technology and philanthropy internationally.

We celebrate the achievements of these Indian American entrepreneurs and applaud their efforts in bridging innovation between India and Silicon Valley.
