An American travel vlogger has caused controversy after posting a video mocking India and haggling with local autorickshaw drivers. The YouTuber, Conner McBee, known online as “Small Brained American,” released a video titled “I went back to India… it still sucks,” in which he criticized India for being dirty, loud, and dishonest during his visit.

In the video, McBee claims he had no interest in visiting India again but had to due to a layover. He filmed his journey from the airport to the hotel, making unfavorable remarks about the country along the way.

More recently, the video resurfaced after another American content creator, Stephen Hauser, condemned McBee’s behavior in a series of Instagram clips. Hauser criticized McBee for trying to drastically lower the fare quoted by an autorickshaw driver—from ₹300 down to ₹20—calling it inconsiderate and unfair to the underprivileged drivers.

While McBee attempted to make light of the negotiation by saying, “It’s so fun bargaining in India,” Hauser responded by saying, “You’re not bargaining. You’re being an a**hole,” emphasizing the need for respect when visiting other cultures.
