Controversy Surrounds H1-B Visa Use as Influencer Criticizes MAGA

Conservative commentator Bill Mitchell has once again addressed the growing debate within the MAGA community about the H-1B visa program. He criticized fellow Republicans who claim the U.S. is importing Indian workers for low-skilled retail jobs, calling the accusation false and misleading. According to Mitchell, the H-1B visa program is specifically for highly skilled professionals with specialized degrees, not for store clerks.

Mitchell expressed surprise at the criticism directed towards Donald Trump by some MAGA supporters over his current stance on H-1B visas. He argued that Trump’s view hasn’t changed — maintaining the program while fixing its flawed parts. Mitchell warned that calls to abolish the H-1B system entirely could harm America’s tech industry.

He also mentioned that most ordinary Americans are not even aware of what an H-1B visa is, suggesting the outrage is fueled mainly by online influencers. Mitchell questioned whether the critics are motivated by anti-immigrant sentiment, suggesting some of the commentary crosses the line into racism and xenophobia.

Responding to Trump’s recent statement about attracting “talented people from abroad,” Mitchell defended the former president. Trump’s comment, he insists, referred to the need for specific technical skills that can’t be filled by untrained workers. He emphasized that the statement was not an attack on American talent in general.

Mitchell warned that ending the program abruptly won’t mean more jobs for Americans but would likely result in more businesses moving jobs overseas due to a lack of domestic skilled labor.
