Qatar has expanded its Hayya GCC Resident Visa (Category A2), allowing eligible residents from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries to stay in Qatar for up to 60 days per visit, with the benefit of multiple entries during the visa’s validity. The update became effective on November 30, 2025, and was launched by Qatar Tourism in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior as part of preparations for a busy season of sports and cultural events.
The upgraded visa applies to residents of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Kuwait, and Bahrain. Importantly, over 9 million Indian residents in these countries can now apply for the visa without extra requirements, as long as they have a valid residence permit. However, Indians living outside the GCC region—such as in India, the UK, or the US—are not eligible under this scheme and should apply through Qatar’s standard visa or e-visa channels.
The revised Hayya visa provides two main benefits: longer stays and greater flexibility. Travelers can stay in Qatar for up to 60 days and can enter and leave the country multiple times without applying for a new visa. The visa is valid for entry by air, land, or sea, easing travel logistics.
Hayya is Qatar’s unified digital entry platform that combines visa processing with services like transport, accommodation, and event access. Initially used during the 2022 Fifa World Cup, it now serves as the official platform for A2 visa applications.
This move comes ahead of major regional events such as the 2025 Fifa Arab Cup. Officials aim to boost tourism by inviting more visitors from neighboring states and enhancing Qatar’s position as a key destination for sports, entertainment, and cultural gatherings.
