Colorful Punjabi Truck Prepares to Make Waves on US Roads

A vibrant Indian-style truck has taken social media by storm after a video of it surfaced on Instagram. The clip showcases a heavily decorated, desi-style truck being sent to the United States. Designed in the typical North Indian fashion, the truck is covered in bright artwork, regional symbols, and detailed patterns, embodying Punjabi flair and traditional Indian charm.

The standout feature is its golden bonnet and intricate artwork that resembles trucks often seen on Indian highways, especially across Punjab and Northern states. The front of the truck features a portrait of Guru Gobind Singh Ji, the tenth Sikh guru, along with the phrase “Guru Rakha” in Punjabi, meaning “God protects.” Above it, the words “Public Carrier” are displayed. The truck also features names of Indian states such as Punjab, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra painted on its cabin.

The video quickly went viral with users posting enthusiastic reactions. Some admired the truck’s design, calling it a “Tata Legend on American streets,” while others speculated it may be shipped to California or displayed in a museum rather than being driven.

This isn’t the first time Indian-style vehicles have caught international attention. Earlier, artist Haider Ali brought traditional truck art to the UK by transforming a nine-seater minibus in Birmingham into a fully painted “Truck Art” bus, celebrating South Asian culture. That project was commissioned to showcase the colorful tradition beyond South Asia.

Social media continues to be mesmerized by these creative examples of cross-cultural art on wheels.
