Washington DC [US], November 30 — As debates around immigration policies continue, Tesla CEO Elon Musk praised the contributions of Indian professionals to the United States. In a conversation with Zerodha Co-Founder Nikhil Kamath, Musk said the US has greatly benefited from the skills and talent of Indians, particularly in fields like technology and innovation.
He stressed the importance of balanced immigration policies, criticizing the Biden administration for weak border controls. Musk noted that open borders may lead to illegal immigration, including individuals with criminal backgrounds, due to attractive government benefits.
Musk also addressed concerns that immigrants may be taking jobs from US citizens. He said he personally sees a shortage of talented individuals rather than a job displacement issue, particularly in innovative industries where skill is highly valued.
Sharing advice for entrepreneurs, Musk emphasized the importance of creating value, working hard, and being prepared for setbacks. He encouraged individuals to be net contributors to society by offering useful products and services, suggesting that financial rewards follow genuine efforts to build and solve problems.
He concluded by acknowledging that building a company requires intense effort and a willingness to face failure, but the key is to focus on creating more value than you consume. “Are you a value creator? That’s what really matters,” Musk said.
