Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra passed away on Monday morning in Mumbai due to age-related health issues. He was 89 years old. The beloved star breathed his last on November 24, after being treated at Breach Candy Hospital and later at home since his discharge on November 12.

Dharmendra’s funeral was held at the Pawan Hans Crematorium in Vile Parle, Mumbai. Many Bollywood legends, including Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, and Aamir Khan, attended the ceremony to pay their respects. Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his grief, stating that Dharmendra’s passing marked “the end of an era” in Indian cinema. He praised Dharmendra’s charm, acting versatility, and warm personality in his tribute.

Dharmendra, often known as the “macho” hero of Bollywood, was widely recognized for his memorable roles in films such as Sholay, Satyakam, The Burning Train, and Shalimar. He left a lasting legacy with his unique ability to portray both action-packed and emotional roles with ease.

Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also paid tribute, remembering Dharmendra’s contribution to Indian cinema and his visits to the region for film shoots and vacations before the late 1980s. On social media, he shared how Dharmendra’s performances in classics like Sholay, Chupke Chupke, and Yaadon Ki Baaraat were an integral part of his childhood cinema experience.
