December 2025 Visa Bulletin Update: Progress for Indians in Employment-Based Categories

“`html

The December 2025 Visa Bulletin from the U.S. State Department brings encouraging news for Indian applicants in employment-based green card categories, showing significant forward movement. In contrast, family-sponsored categories remain static, continuing the long wait for many applicants.

The Visa Bulletin outlines which green card applications are eligible for processing based on the priority date — the day the initial petition was filed. If an applicant’s priority date is earlier than the cutoff listed in the bulletin, their application can proceed. Others must wait until their date becomes current.

For Indian applicants, this month marked notable forward progress. The EB-1 category for priority workers has moved to March 15, 2022. The EB-2 category, which includes professionals with advanced degrees, has advanced to May 15, 2013. The EB-3 category, covering skilled workers and professionals, shifted forward to September 22, 2013.

Other employment categories also saw changes. EB-4, which includes special immigrants, advanced to September 1, 2020. The Religious Workers category, unavailable in November, has now reopened. Notably, the EB-5 Investor Visa, designed for immigrant investors, jumped five months ahead to July 1, 2021, offering hope to Indian investors awaiting permanent residency.
